These Terms & Conditions govern your use of SchoolNet Global and outline the rights and responsibilities of all users.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using SchoolNet Global, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our platform.

Your school has authorized the use of SchoolNet Global as an educational platform. Use of the platform constitutes acceptance of these terms by you and your authorized representatives.

2. User Eligibility & Account Requirements

Eligibility

To use SchoolNet Global, you must be:

Enrolled at a school using SchoolNet Global, or
Employed by such a school, or
A parent/guardian with an account authorized by the school

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials
You are responsible for all activities under your account
You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized access or use
You agree to provide accurate and complete information
You must update your information if it changes

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use SchoolNet Global for any prohibited purposes, including:

Prohibited Activities

Harassment or bullying of any user
Illegal or unethical activities
Unauthorized access attempts
Malware or virus distribution
Impersonation of others
Hate speech or discrimination
Sexual or explicit content
Spam or unauthorized solicitation

System Abuse

Attempting to hack or breach security
Unauthorized data access or modification
Disrupting platform operations
Uploading unauthorized or malicious files
Attempting to reverse-engineer the platform
Circumventing security measures
Automated access or scraping
Resource abuse or DoS attacks

Violation Consequences: Violation of the Acceptable Use Policy may result in account suspension, termination, or legal action. Your school may also be notified of violations.

4. Content & Intellectual Property Rights

User-Generated Content

By uploading, posting, or submitting content to SchoolNet Global, you grant your school and SchoolNet Global a non-exclusive license to use such content for educational purposes within the platform.

You retain all ownership rights to content you create. You are responsible for ensuring that content you upload does not violate any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights.

Platform Intellectual Property

SchoolNet Global, including its design, functionality, and code, is the proprietary property of SchoolNet Global and its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify the platform without authorization.

Educational Materials

Course materials, assignments, and educational content provided by teachers are for authorized educational use only. Unauthorized distribution or use of such materials is prohibited.

5. Role-Based Access & Restrictions

You agree to use SchoolNet Global only in accordance with your assigned role and the access permissions granted by your school:

Students:

Can access only their own assignments, grades, schedule, and records. Cannot access other students' data without authorization.

Teachers:

Can access and manage their class data and student performance. Cannot access classes they do not teach.

Parents:

Can access only their child's academic data and communicate with teachers. Cannot access other students' information.

Admins & Staff:

Can access data relevant to their responsibilities. Admin actions are logged and monitored for security.

Warning: Attempting to access data beyond your authorized scope is a violation of these terms and may be illegal.

6. Limitation of Liability

SchoolNet Global is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SchoolNet Global and its owners shall not be liable for:

Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Loss of data, revenue, or profits
Service interruptions or data loss
Unauthorized access due to user negligence
Third-party actions or content

Our total liability for any claims arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount paid by your school for SchoolNet Global services in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Data Backup & User Responsibility

While SchoolNet Global maintains regular backups and security measures, users are responsible for maintaining their own copies of important data.

Export important documents and assignments regularly
SchoolNet Global is not responsible for data loss due to user error or account deletion
Deleted content may be unrecoverable after a certain period
Use secure passwords and enable two-factor authentication

8. Modifications & Service Changes

SchoolNet Global reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the platform with reasonable notice to your school. We may update features, pricing, or terms at any time.

Continued use of the platform following modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Your school will be notified of material changes.

9. Account Termination

Your school or SchoolNet Global may terminate your account if you:

Violate these Terms & Conditions
Engage in harmful, illegal, or unethical behavior
No longer qualify for platform access (graduation, employment termination, etc.)
Request account deletion

Upon termination, your access will be immediately revoked. Your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy and applicable regulations.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Rwanda and applicable international data protection regulations.

Any legal disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of Rwanda, and you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of such courts.

12. Severability
